Every one of us is designed to fit ourselves well.

Your knees can fit your armpits, your heels can fit your palms, your head fits your hands, your brain fits your skull and your eyeballs fit your eye sockets - perfectly. But as bodies are organic, over time things get torqued or spun out, and we feel less functional, less at home in our form. The unique approach of Katonah Yoga© provides the opportunity to measure up, to reframe and re-organize the body, and to rediscover the beauty, symmetry and harmony of both your body and the presence that can fill it.

Engaging, illuminating and transformative, Katonah Yoga© is a syncretic practice of Hatha Yoga, drawing on a number of different methodologies and perspectives to maximize both personal well-being and communal joy. Developed over the course of 40 years by Egyptian-American Nevine Michaan, it leverages principles of sacred geometry, Taoist cosmology, Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Iyengar tradition, and Kundalini Yoga, as well as a healthy dose of mystical pragmatism and skillful use of metaphor. It is a practice accessible to all, whether you are brand new to yoga or a decades-devoted practitioner or teacher.

Recommended props (if you have access to them): 2-4 blocks, 1-2 straps, 2-3 blankets, 1 sandbag.
