Registered Yoga Teacher

In the spring of 2022, yoga found me. My journey of inner awakening started right here at Yogarise
when I was 56 years old. At that time my life felt meaningless and empty. I was desperately searching
for a way out of the suffering and meaningless cycle that I had blindly let myself fall into. Little did I
know that I was embarking on a lifelong journey of transformation from darkness to light.

Right from the start I was drawn to the holistic practice of Akhanda Yoga, a traditional eight-fold path
bringing together practices of movement (Asana), breathing (pranayama), sound work (Mantra), wisdom
(philosophy) and meditation (Dhyan).

In 2023 I completed my 200-hour Akhanda teacher training at Prana Yoga Studio, one year after starting
my yoga journey. Over the next few years my devotion to my own personalized yoga practice
deepened. It has been my goal to show up on my yoga mat every morning, even when it is challenging.
For me, yoga is not a fitness trend or a hobby. It’s a scared responsibility to my inner growth, creating
alignment within my internal and external worlds. It is a disciplined practice that keeps me grounded,
calm, present, grateful, peaceful and joyful. Practicing yoga is a constant return to our true nature and
it’s available to every person regardless of your situation or background.

I give thanks to my first guru Erik Hanzen who’s devotion to the traditional teachings of yoga help me
awaken to the light and love within me. I would also like to thank Krista Daneluz Vieira (founder and
owner of Yogarise) for welcoming me into her community with an abundance of love and compassion
and for giving me an opportunity to give back to my community through teaching. I also honor
Himalayan Yogi Master Dr. Yogrishi Vishvketu (founder of Akhanda Yoga Institute) for his holistic
teachings preserving the ancient wisdom and techniques passed down from the Himalayan Yoga
tradition.
