This retreat is pure nourishment for mind, body and soul. For one full day, in a beautiful rural yoga oasis, you will have the opportunity to connect and share in a centering and heart-uplifting community to replenish your energy and align your intention with your movement through life.

Weaving together the threads of yoga asana (postures), pranayama (breath regulation) and meditation creates a potent combination for grounding, inner clarity and alignment with one's deepest purpose. When distractions are minimized, concentration can be cultivated and directed internally to shift ideologies and patterns that hold us static.

Join Krista, Daisy and Michelle to explore clearing stagnant energy through movement (90 minute all-levels flow yoga practice) and elevating prana through breathing exercises. Access the healing power of the psyche through the Hawaiian Ho'oponopono technique. Discover how to restore and maintain balance with vedic mantra meditation. Renew your nervous system with a guided restorative nidra sequence. Explore de-patterning and unearthing the intention of your deepest heart, inwardly aligning with purpose and compassion, to create lasting vibrations and inner clarity. This retreat is designed to renew and refresh, inviting you back to your center.

There will be opening and closing circles to form connection, time spent in nature (weather permitting), and time to reflect. A delicious vegan lunch will be provided.

in Katonah Yoga

Katonah Yoga is an extraordinary approach to and method of yoga practice. Developed over the course of 45 years by Egyptian-American Nevine Michaan, it is a syncretic Hatha practice that draws a number of sources, including the Iyengar tradition, Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan, Taoism, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Sacred Geometry, and a healthy dose of Nevine’s unique mystical pragmatism and skillful use of metaphor. It is unlike any other form of practice Isabelle has encountered. Its principles of referencing the archetype of each pose, leveraging the skill of measurement using vision and the feedback of props, focusing on joint health and longevity rather than purely muscular strength, discovering the multi-dimensional fits and folds of the human body, and the pivotal use of the imagination to feed, fuel, and fill out every asana shape in revolutionary ways continue to confound, delight, inspire, and provoke insight within her. It’s challenging, illuminating, and sometimes mystifying. It treats yoga as an alchemical practice - more magical than medical - that seeks to make the unconscious conscious and reveal what’s been hiding in plain sight to result in a well-rounded, resilient and responsible human being. If this piques your interest, come and take a ride with Isabelle through a 4 hour Introductory Adventure in Katonah Yoga. We will explore some of the fundamental building blocks of the practice through asana, pranayama, meditation, and the dynamic contact of conversation and Q&A. Get ready to engage and be engaged.

PS - bring basically every prop you own :-)

The Rites are said to be a form of Tibetan yoga similar to the yoga series that originated in India. It is made up of 5 simple postures that are repeated up to 21 times. Seems like a lot, but you work up to it gradually. They are also known as the Five Rites of Rejuvenation.

Like Indian yoga, the benefits are huge. Increased energy, stress reduction, clarity of thought, increased strength and flexibility, overall improvement in health and wellness.

So why practice the Rites? A lot of people feel they don’t have time for a full practice. This will take approximately 20 minutes and can be done everyday.

Classical Kundalini is a form of yoga practice that seeks to open subtle channels in the body through the balanced application of sound, movement, breath work, and meditation. It offers a unique blend of technique and abandon, trust and intelligence, devotion and wisdom. This particular approach was systematized by Yogrishi Vishvketu, founder of Akhanda Yoga, and will be informed by my own experience, insight and experimentation. Come for an adventure through innerspace, your interior, while receiving the support of the collective, the communal, the outerspace of us all. We will have an embodied experience through full length practice (1.75 hours), followed by time to engage the intellect through discussion, reflection, sharing and meditation, accompanied by some homemade, nourishing and grounding treats (important after Kundalini Yoga!) and caffeine-free vegan chai.
