Understanding how the body creates movement and learning about anatomy is key to creating a supportive and sustainable yoga practice. In the modern world, many people experience challenges with injury, postural dysfunction, and repetitive activity, all which have a huge impact on how the body moves and creates patterns of compensation. Understanding injury, and how to prevent it, changes the way postures are cued, the muscles you activate and ultimately how you create a supportive yoga practice for yourself (and your students) over the long term.

In Elevated Yoga Anatomy, you will:

- learn the function and location of key muscles related to yoga practice

- learn how to activate muscles to correct postural imbalance

- explore connective tissue types and myofascial lines

- review compensation and adaptation patterns within the body

- review each section of the body from an anatomy and yogic lens

- learn about key pathologies affecting major areas (spine, shoulder, SI joint, knees, elbows, ankles) and how this relates to yoga practice

- learn activation techniques that support whole-body integrity

Open to yoga students and teachers. You will be provided with all powerpoint information on anatomy and techniques.

Elevated Yoga Anatomy is one of the modules eligible within our 100 Hour Yoga Immersion Program. If you are interested in registering for this module through that program, or curious about what is included within the Immersion, please visit the link below.
